This is the last shot I took before I packed the camera in my bag. The trail was destroyed by a landslide and the climb became even harder. Eventually it started to get dark while we were still in the middle of the ridge. Somehow we lost the trail and ended up in a completely unknown exit point. We found out that we reached the town Valencia, far away from the estimated exit point.

That was not good news, we were out of water, it was a dark night and the nearest highway was still a few kilometers away. I am very proud of everyone in the group, we supported each other and kept going despite the fact that it was still a long way ahead of us.

As soon as we reached the road, habal habal drivers (guys with big offroad motorbikes) took us to Dumaguete.

I sunk relieved in my bed. Everything was hurting, it felt good. I think that’s the reason why we hike, to feel our bodies, feel the nature and getting ourselves in situations where even basic aminities like drinking water are not self-evident.
